Meet & Greet: Lucas Seaman

After a brief blog hiatus, we're back and better than ever! Let's continue our EFI board member Meet & Greet series with one of our favorites, Lucas Seaman!

Lucas is Empty Frame Initiative's youngest board member! A fresh 16 year old (today is his birthday!), Lucas is a 10th grade homeschooler here in Raleigh. Lucas enjoys sports of all kinds, outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, and is a talented drummer and pianist; he has even composed in his spare time!

When he was young, Lucas was always intimidated by the idea of surrendering it all the the Lord.

"I was satisfied being a cheerleader on the sidelines where I was comfortable. About two years ago, I recognized that I was settling for less than what He had for me. With such grace, the Lord revealed to me the shallow water I stood in, and then revealed the vast oceans before me. I began asking for the desire to seek him...since that moment of surrender, I've been set on fire for Christ."

In the summer of 2015 Lucas went on a missions trip to Ecuador where his desire to fully surrender to God's plan was put in action. Learning to put his desires on the back burner and being filled with an overwhelming love for God's children, Lucas received a clear word from the Lord; it was simply, "Tend to my sheep". Now, Lucas is pursuing his call as an evangelist and eagerly following wherever the Lord leads.

A little known fact about Lucas is that his great-great-great-great grandfather's nephew was Robert E. Lee. There is no way that Lucas could pick a favorite movie, but his favorite book is without a doubt the Bible. He says it brings comfort in trials, peace in storms, joy in the midst of sorrow, and it's where he finds his identity.

Lucas believes in global impact; he is asking God to use Empty Frames to shake the world. God tells us to ask anything in His name and it will be given, so why settle for decent-sized prayers? Let's pray enormous, world-shaking prayers! Lucas is excited to see orphans restored and God glorified through it.

Two verses that have meant a lot to Lucas are Psalm 40:3 and Isaiah 41:17

Psalm 40:3 "Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord."

Isaiah 41:17 "When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them."
